I Was the Beginning and
I was the beginning, and
I quite never felt enough
to live, to quest and
answer questions,
like why exactly
imperfection
‘s all I ever see:
first in myself,
then in the world,
now in everything I see.
“First, love yourself;
you’ll love the world
and everyone you see,”
says darkness deep inside of me.
I was the beginning and
know I was born enough
to live, to love, be loved.
Perfection’s all around me,
that voice above in everyone.
Now let there be light.
I wrote this piece toward the beginning of my spiritual awakening. It employs Creationist imagery to explore the origins of both positive and negative thoughts.
